Chester is an historic city on the border of Wales and England. Its origins can be traced back to the founding of the Roman fortress of Deva in A.D. 70.
After the Romans Chester developed into a busy port with trade from Dublin.
But the river Dee silted up and trade declined and the city's development was frozen.
Today Chester is a major tourist attraction and shopping location.

Conwy Pirate Festival
10th & 11th May 2025
The Quay Conwy North Wales
Join us May 10th-11th for the Conwy Pirate Festival.
Experience thrilling activities for all ages in historic Conwy, North Wales.
Anyone wondering about the change in our date each year, this is due to it being set by the tide.
To have the sea battle, which we feel is the highlight of the festival,
there needs to be water at a decent time of day in the harbour on both the Saturday and Sunday.
This isn't an issue for other festivals who can set the same date each year.
We also make sure that it doesn't clash with a Bank Holiday so that the town isn't already full.
