We're now proud to present our FULL LINE UP ANNOUNCEMENT
Galactic Funk Militia
Galactic Funk Militia is an audacious 12-piece Funk, Hip Hop and Dance band from Liverpool (UK), mixing up the flavours of artists like Jimi Hendrix, P Funk, Jill Scott, Kendrick Lamar, De La Soul, OutKast, Basement Jaxx Ė even the Prodigy!
GFM has massive stage presence and the sound to match. Thumping dance floor smashers explode with horns and electric guitar, while liquid ballads seduce your ears with sensuous synth and exquisite melody. All driven by impulsive groove, quick-fire rap gymnastics and completed by the incredible voice of Amber Kuti.
greenroom are a 4 piece psychedelic pop/surf band, who came together through meeting at University. The band draw influence from contemporary pop, 60ís rock and R Ďní B. They absolutely stormed the place at The Gathering and we're very excited for their late night main stage slot.
Based in Liverpool, Elevant are comprised of the thunderous yet nuanced and versatile drumming of Tom Shand, feeding off the slinky, mellifluous bass work of Hannah Lodge, with Michael Edward (Guitar/Vocals) colouring in the lines they draw. Now three albums in, they've honed their blend of diverse influences into a well oiled, visceral but subtle sound drawing from art rock, psych, post punk, doom, krautrock, shoegaze, hardcore punk, trip hop, and whatever else befalls their obsessive ears. Based in Liverpool, Elevant are able to switch from delicately pretty to crushingly heavy at the drop of a hat, all while maintaining a knack for pop hooks combined with unconventional song structures and experimental touches, both pandering to and usurping expectations of how a rock band should behave.
SPQR are badass. Slinky, sinister, sexy, like the rock and roll equivalent of a fantastic R Rated B movie you'd sneak out to watch as a teenager. They're a deadly, locked groove machine, which allows them to get all the more weird whilst still making you move your hips. The rhythm section of Bex Dentonís hypnotic drums and Nick Danielís mellifluous bass work provide the foundation for Peter Harrison's freaky guitar colourations and his intensely passionate, crystal clear voice to burrow into your mind.
Psyblings are a five-piece psych/noise rock band hailing from Manchester. Merging gritty blues rock, psychedelic rock and punk, the band channel influence from acts such as Ty Segall, The Dee Dee Dums, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Jimi Hendrix, Sonic Youth and Nirvana to create catchy recordings and unique, live performances. The live performances created by the band change throughout - from filfthy riffs to mellow jams - there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Chupa Cabra are a 3 piece garage punk/psych outfit from Deeside, North Wales, bringing a dizzying blend of psych punk and 60's West Coast Garage rock worthy of soundtracking Hunter S Thompson's journey into the desert.
Isaac and the Beekeepers
Unsigned Acoustic Rock three-piece from North Wales with influences ranging from Metallica and Foo Fighters, to Andy McKee and Newton Faulkner.
Ornate indie-rock with math grooves and an explosive performance.
Def Neon (formerly Jed Is Dead) integrate elements of rock, electro, and bass music to create live shows that have been described by critics as energetic, intense and unique. The diverse nature of their music has proved popular with industry professionals and festival crowds alike, leading to support slots with 65daysofstatic, Death in Vegas, The Orb, Pop Will Eat Itself, The Algorithm, Sonic Boom Six and The Birthday Massacre.
Nightflies are Jake, Winch, Reg and Mark; four music students with a shared love of alternative rock, jazz rock and Simon memory games. Regularly gigging across the northwest, the band have shared the stage with the likes of We Are The Ocean and have played top slots at Liverpoolís Threshold Festival, Manchesterís Dot To Dot Festival and the Isle of Manís Mannifest.
Chester-based Indie-Rock Duo with a serious love of heavy riffs and making a lot of noise. Inspired by Royal Blood/Manchester Orchestra/We are Scientists/Billy Talent. Their previous thundering set at Alexander's left a big impression, so we're chuffed to invite them back.
The Misty Blue Trio
The Misty Blue Trio are a up and coming band from Welshpool, Mid Wales fast gaining a reputation as a blues, pop, funk outfit. Their original songs will move your heart as well as your feet.
Taking influences from bands such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sly and The Family Stone and John Mayer. The Misty Blue Trio like to combine these influences into something they believe is new and unique.
Hip-Hop from the City of Chester is what some might call a rare breed, but it's found here. After he started rapping at age 15, and taking his stage name after his childhood nickname, Harry Wilson is appearing on the scene as Vil. With his debut release "The CH3 EP" he combines a solid blend of modern hip-hop, a tangible bedroom vibe, and an explosive live show to be hitting Alexander's soon.
Somnium is a combination of different dreams, impulses, and influences. The band writes powerful music which is formulated in such a way that makes the audience feel passionate. This neofolk/ambient cross-over creates an original Alternative sound which highlights their ability to construct a truly captivating experience.
