Part One
Just when you thought it was safe to walk the streets at night again The Winter Watch is coming.
The parade has been split into two parts in recent years. With the second installment following on a week later along side the Roman saturnalia parade.

School children from across Chester will parade through the city centre for the return of the Christmas Lantern Parade led by a Christmas band.
Hundreds of school children parade through the city centre with their hand made lanterns.
Parade begins at Town Hall and loops through the City and finishes in the city centre.
Lanterns light up Chester city centre alongside the Queen of Light puppet joined by school children carrying their own handmade lanterns.

The children leave from Town Hall Square at 7pm with their handmade lanterns the parade route includes:
- St Werburgh Street, Eastgate Street, Bridge Street, then turning around and heading for Northgate Street, with the Parade ending back in Town Hall Square.

Announcing a raft of new additions to its much-loved Lanterns and Light spectacle, the zoo unveiled it is again teaming up with entertainment giants Sony Music to deliver this year�s festive event.
The trail promises to be even longer and more exciting than last year, with the event opening on November 15 and going all the way through to New Year�s Day for the first time.
Organisers say visitors will journey through a number of distinct and vibrant lands where they�ll encounter an exciting line-up of costumed characters and new animal puppets including meerkats, peacocks, red pandas and snow leopards.
An �incredible� new soundscape will add to the immersion, with animal lanterns, such as dragonflies hovering over water, elephants in permafrost and exotic birds flying overhead, decorating the route of the stunning light trail.
The event will see the return of �selfie favourites� such as glowing cathedral tunnels of light, while a whole new festive menu will be on offer at bustling food and drink markets stationed in various locations within the zoo.
Ticket sales will help to support the conservation zoo in its efforts to protect some of the planet�s most threatened species.

Chester city centre will be lit by hundreds of children as they parade through the streets carrying handmade lanterns for the annual Lantern Parade.
The parade will leave from the Forum Shopping Centre, walking past the Cathedral along St Werburgh Street, turning into Eastgate Street, down Bridge Street, back up Northgate Street and ending at the Christmas Market in the Town Hall Square.
Local school children parade through Chester with handmade lanterns.

The parade will start at the Forum Shopping Centre and will continue around the city, including:

There will be dancers, fire breathing and sword fights along the way.
