Established in 1781 The Mount Inn is an old fashioned pub located just off Christleton Road a mile to the east of the City of Chester in Boughton.
The pub is located on the ground floor of the building, and it is divided into three parts. There is a games room and a bar side and a lounge side.
At the back is a patio with fine views of the River Dee and the meadows. The Mount Inn is about a fifteen minute walk from the City Centre.
Directions
The Mount Inn is located out of sight of the main road behind a small mound called St Giles Cemetery.
If walking from the city centre starting at the Cross, walk down Eastgate Street under the clock and keep going along foregate Street. Keep going walking out of the City on the A51 Christleton Road. Walk past the Bars and St Paul's Church. Then at the small cemetery turn right along the small path called The Mount. The Mount Inn is behind the cemetery mound. It takes about fifteen minutes to walk from the Cross.
If walking from Chester Railway Station walk down hill down City Road in a straight direction from the exit of the station. Once at the road junction at the entrance to the City. Turn left away from the City walk past Boughton Bars and look for the cemetery mound on the right.
From the Motorway M53 J12 go around the roundabout and take the third exit. Go along the short straight road and take the first left next to the Hoole Hall Hotel. Follow the short straight road to Sainsbury's roundabout going across the Cross Roads. And take the third exit signposted A5115 Chester City Centre. Follow the road into the City Centre, past the Peacock Pub. As the road narrows you will see the Old Wheatsheaf Pub and Sandy Lane B5130 on the left. The mount is the small road next on the left behind the Cemetery Mound.
