Morgan's Mount
Morgan's Mount

Morgan's Mount open to the public in 2022.
Morgan's Mount was damaged in the English Civil war by cannon fire and rebuilt in Victorian times. It was named after the commander of the loyalist cannon battery placed underneath Captain Morgan.
There is a small stone staircase with gives access to the top were there is a newly installed history display board. From the top you can get good views of the welsh hills.
There is a small stone room underneath which was locked by a newly built wooden door.
Interestingly the top flag stones have been repaired in the past with part of a Victorian grave stone. The inscription reads
'ANN CORLET ... Daughter of ROB ... HANNAH CORLET... died 9th Dec. 181...'
