Ring Road
The ring road is a duel carriageway built in 1966 around Chester City Centre to increase traffic flow. It has five sections:
St Oswald's Way
Vicars Lane (single carriage in parts)
Pepper Street
Nicholas Street
St Martins Way (elevated)

October 2025
The inspection work on the Nicholas Street Viaduct on St Martin's Way in Chester is ahead of schedule.
And the contraflow will be removed for the morning of Friday 24 October 2025
Overnight road closures will be in place on 22 and 23 October 2025

Autumn 2025
A contraflow will be in place on the Nicholas Street Viaduct on St Martin's Way in Chester.
Between the 1966 Bridge and the Fountains roundabout, for six weeks from 21 September 2025
For essential structural inspections.
