This pottery flask dating from the 6th or 7th Centuries AD was found at Meols in the Wirral. It originally came from Egypt and would have contained holy water from the shrine of St. Menas in Alexandra. This shrine was destroyed in the 7th Century AD. The flask would have belonged to a pilgrim. |
