Chester Duck Race 2025

Start location - The Suspension Bridge
Saturday 5th April 2025
Sponsors Hickory's Smokehouse Chester

Activities from 12 noon which include hook a duck, colouring competition, raffle tickets for sale, face painting and duck merchandise for sale.
The ducks will race at 3pm.
Ducks are available for companies to sponsor.

Event by Clerical Error Morris Dancers and Street Entertainers - Y 'Clerigwyr'
The Groves Chester United Kingdom

Join us for a day of dance to celebrate the beginning of Spring, the changing of the clocks and the longer days ahead.
We'll be dancing for a few slots throughout the afternoon, along with Powderkegs and Stone The Crows Morris.
The dancing will start at around 11:30, hope to see you there.

The footpath leading up from the Groves to Little St John Street in Chester has been closed for safety reasons.
Due to the dangerous condition of a privately-owned brick wall which is adjacent to the footpath.
It will remain closed until the wall has been made safe.

The Groves is a River side walk on the North side of the River Dee starting at the end of Lower Bridge Street and finishing near Grosvenor Park.
The area has many benches and a band stand.
River Cruises are available April-October 11am-5pm daily and November-March 11am-4pm Weekdays Only from Bithell Boats.

Not surprising we lost our council majority with this kind of undemocratic and absolutely idiotic nonsense.
The last deputy leader, now leader, made a statement once justifying NHS privatisation on environmental grounds. Now the current deputy leader ignores a democratic petition, and to my knowledge hasn't met with the people petitioning her over this issue.

Grove Villa Chester

The House
Grove Villa is a Victorian house on the banks of Chester's picturesque River Dee. The house was built in 1836 and retains many of its original features. It has 3 en-suite bedrooms with central heating, TV, tea and coffee making facilities. We have off road parking and are strictly non smoking. A choice of breakfast menu is available ranging from continental , full English and Vegetarian. Other special diets can be accommodated by prior arrangement.
The Rooms
Room1 has an antique half tester bed with river view.
Room2 has a modern four poster bed plus a single bed (can be double or with twin) view to the river.
Room3 is our Honeymoon Suite with modern four poster bed and seating area. This is a large room situated at the back of the house
Grove Villa is furnished and decorated to a high standard using antique furniture and picture to enhance its original Victorian charm.
