Meet the Author: Roderick Heather - Saturday 2nd October 2pm
Roderick will talk about his new book, The Iron Tzar which tells the story of John Hughes. Hughes, born in South Wales, founded a city in his own image in 19th century Ukraine. The town he established became known as Hughesovka and is now the modern Ukrainian city of Donetsk. Tickets cost £2 and include refreshments, please book your place at the library.
Jazzy Jewellery for Adults - Wednesday 6th October from 7 - 9pm
Join us for an evening exploring different techniques for making jewellery using buttons and beads. Tickets cost £5, please book your place at the library.
Meet the Author: Annette Lawrence - Saturday 16th October at 11am
Local author Annette Lawrence will talk about her second novel, Evil Deeds of the Subconscious Mind. There will be an opportunity to buy signed copies. The storyline tackles difficult issues like Alzheimer’s disease, MS and incest. It revolves around three lifelong friends: Ruth, who has to deal with Alice, who is in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease, Mandy, whose mother has MS, battles with the prejudices that people have against the disabled and Rachel, who is haunted by her childhood memories. Tickets cost £2 and include refreshments, proceeds to Shopmobility. Please contact the library to book your place.
Reading Group Evening, Death in Breslau by Marek Krajewski - Wednesday 27th October 7 - 9pm
Copies of this title are available to borrow from the Information Desk at Chester Library. Borrow it, read it and join us for a discussion followed by Polish refreshments and an opportunity to talk to two Polish librarians who are visiting Chester.
