April 2022 - Construction work is going on but the road is open to traffic to the ring road.

Manacare has closed

New student accommodation had been built at the end of Hunter Street on the Ring Road.

Hunter Street Jadeitite Axe Head

This beautiful polished Neolithic Axe Head was discovered in 1914 during excavations on Hunter Street, Chester.
It was made in around 4200 - 4000 BC (6000 Years ago) near the Swiss Alps.
Analysis of the stone has told us that the axehead is made of a mineral called 'Jadeitite'.
Early humans living in this area may have traded local resources in return for this Axe Head.
