The only Sunday race day in the year, full of entertaining activities and racing.
We're back racing for Family Day. Chester Racecourse is excited to announce details of its popular annual Family Day.
Kick-start the Summer Holidays with a day of family fun at Chester Racecourse. With action on the flat and fun free activities for younger racegoers.

It’s time to plan your day for our Oktoberfest Season Finale.
Gates open 11:30am – steins, sausages and Oktoberfest vibes all day long.
12:15 – 12:30pm – Dachshund Derby Don’t miss the cutest race of the year.
Racing action kicks off at 1:55pm with the last race at 5:20pm.
Where and when possible, we’ll also be showing the Liverpool Derby across the racecourse.
With an extra screen on the Open Course just for the big game. Racing will remain the main focus on screens throughout the afternoon.
Events: Racing Football Dachshund Derby Oktoberfest fun all day.

We’re ready for our first-ever Dachshund Derby, taking place at our Oktoberfest Season Finale tomorrow, Saturday 20th September 2025.
Our Dachshund Derby stars: Boo, Ralph, Ted, Otis, Dave, Teddy, Nellie and Winston.
These speedy sausages are ready to strut the Parade Ring and race for glory – with Paw-secco and pretzel treats up for grabs.
The track is ready, the paws are primed, and the race is on. Who will take the win ?
