The Groves The Groves is a River side walk on the North side of the River Dee starting at the end of Lower Bridge Street and finishing near Grosvenor Park. The area has many benches and a band stand. River Cruises are available April-October 11am-5pm daily and November-March 11am-4pm Weekdays Only from Bithell Boats. Tel 01244 325394 The Swans are now a feature of the River Dee at the Groves. The Bandstand plays host to Brass Bands on Bank Holidays. To book the Bandstand please contact Margaret Lindsay on 01244 402446 The Suspension Bridge provides pedestrian access to Handbridge and Queens Park. The Boathouse pub is located at the end of the Groves. The Plaque reads: This oak tree was planted in November 2004 by Minister Kishino of the Japanese Embassy, in memory of all those who died and suffered as a result of the dropping of the atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945. In the belief that this must never happen again.
